Job Description
The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management reports to the Vice President for Student Success and serves as the chief enrollment officer for Harford Community College. As a key member of the division's leadership team, this position is responsible for providing strategic vision, skilled planning and project management, program development, effective supervision, budget oversight, data analysis, and outcomes evaluation. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management is a highly visible leader who actively connects with campus and community stakeholders to increase access and success for the residents of Harford County and students served by the College. The AVP for Enrollment Management ensures institutional coordination for strategic enrollment management through alignment with the institution's mission, vision and values as well as its strategic plan. The position provides leadership for the following departments: Admissions, Financial Aid, Testing and Enrollment Services, Dual Enrollment, and the Registrar's Office. This position oversees the recruitment and professional development of direct reports and staff, fostering a collaborative and high performing student-centered culture and excellent customer service. The AVP actively addresses institutional performance gaps, promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and collaborates with stakeholders across campus and in the community to enhance students' experience and to prepare them to achieve upward economic and social mobility. Additionally, the AVP for Enrollment Management stays current with promising practices in higher education, and community colleges specifically, to champion efforts that lead to continuous improvement.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
Master's Degree
Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership in a college setting, with experience developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and supervise diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in using data to inform strategies and decision-making.
  • Understanding of best practices and trends in higher education enrollment management.
  • Strong familiarity with student recruitment, retention, and support services.
  • Adept at project management.
  • Proficiency in enrollment management systems, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Office of Communications, in developing and executing effective marketing strategies


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D./Ed.D.
  • MA in Higher Education Administration or related field of study.
  • Experience working with local K-12 on dual enrollment and early college programs.
  • Familiarity with developing partnership agreements.
  • Strong understanding of Slate and Banner Systems.
  • Familiarity with the community college sector.

Hours per Week 40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
General work schedule is forty hours per week, Monday through Friday. Additional hours, to include evenings and weekends, may be required based on the needs of the College.
