DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, responsible and accountable for the full range of SPD activities and competencies related to sterile processing.

Ensures all instrumentation and equipment needed for surgery and various medical procedures have been decontaminated, disinfected, inspected, assembled, and sterilized in accordance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policy. Ensures compliance with all record keeping requirements. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and processing flexible endoscopes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Sterile Processing Tech Certification (CRCST, CPSPD).
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Completion of SPD course.
  • Must have three (3) years of recent experience in a similar role and setting.
  • Demonstrated skill and proficiency with a variety of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of effective inventory storage and retrieval practices.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the decontamination, disinfection and sterilization procedures of surgical instruments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CER Certification from HSPA
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,150 - $83,562 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.16 - $40.02

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
