| Position Highlights |
The University of Arizona seeks a Community Outreach Professional to serve as a Community Engagement Liaison (CEL) for a primary care translational research network. The CEL will engage with urban and rural communities throughout Arizona, and with clinicians, to accelerate clinical translational innovation across the state. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, knowledgeable of Arizona rural communities, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Applicants should be comfortable speaking in public and representing the organization professionally and approachably. The CEL will serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams conducting and promoting human subjects research. The position requires some travel, including overnight stays throughout Arizona, promoting scientific studies to a variety of audiences, and flexibility to meet grant deliverables. They will coordinate with staff and faculty at both the University of Arizona and the University of New Mexico. Represents the PC-BRIDGE program to both internal and external constituencies with respect to program implementation and operational matters, and provides technical, professional, and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support to client constituencies. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Serves as a liaison with internal and external collaborators on all matters relating to grant activities.
- Represents the University of Arizona with respect to program activities on a local, regional, and/or national basis.
- Helps investigators disseminate research opportunities and findings in culturally appropriate contexts such as creating bilingual brochures, presentations, newsletters.
- Develops and sustains partnerships with primary care clinics, health councils, Community Health Workers and Representatives (CHW/Rs), county health departments, and other health-related organizations.
- Engages with new communities by reaching out to interested/affected communities in Arizona.
- Provides day-to-day problem solving as necessary on program-related needs and issues.
- Creates, produces, and delivers a range of promotional, educational, and informational presentations, and/or resource materials related to program activities and initiatives to academic, state, local communities, and other audiences.
- Tracks program activity data.
- Develops, writes, edits, and assists with required grant reports.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- 3 years of relevant work experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
