Location: Southfield, MI; hybrid (3 days in office)

About the Role

In this role on AlixPartners' Corporate IT group, the Business Analyst will support the CRM Dynamics project and work with the Information Technology (IT) team with primary responsibility for analysis, design, development, evaluation, selection, and post implementation support of high-quality solutions to support our consulting, marketing and Business Intelligence Center (BIC) enterprise functions. The candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of designing solutions to meet customer demands and be willing to take ownership of problems and work with team members to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

The Corporate Applications Business Analyst role is in Southfield, Michigan reporting to Corporate Applications & Technology Consultant Services Director. Paid relocation and benefits are not available for this contract position.

What you'll do:



  • Work with internal customers to identify and document user requirements/stories and assist in designing technical solutions.
  • Document current and desired processes, ensuring all documentation is kept up-to-date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.
  • Interpret requirements and translate into technical specifications and/or to ensure program milestones are met.
  • Maintain and resolve requirements issues as they arise and collaborate with product owners and other extended team members on issue resolution and solution design.
  • Refine backlog, triage user stories, manage SLAs and maintain/audit Azure DevOps boards relevant to specific projects.
  • Create functional specifications for delivering customer solutions.
  • Participate in project teams to deliver new solutions and/or enhance existing solutions.
  • Participate in problem solving in areas such as system design, input/output requirements and procedural flow between departments and/or business systems.
  • Support user testing, documenting results of testing and resolve bugs and issues with business and IT.

What you'll need



  • Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred. Related work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Relevant experience or demonstrated capability in an operational or functional role.
  • Experience in enterprise applications and understanding database driven applications.
  • Experience working directly with IT and business/functional team members to understand project concepts, objectives, and approach.
  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, workflow, and understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Experience in configuring, customizing, implementing, and supporting SaaS business applications preferred.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, timely work with professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing individual priorities and adapting to changing needs with minimum guidance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written in English and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
  • Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, and inclusion.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
