THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN OUR SERVICE AREA

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Field Inspector is responsible for performing all legally mandated inspections of BVES, Inc. electrical facilities and for responding to requests for facilities information from external entities. This position is an individual contributor role requiring experience with overhead and underground electrical equipment and apparatus. This position performs work mandated by General Order (GO) 165 of the California Public Utilities Commission, relating to the inspection and maintenance of electrical facilities in accordance with GO 95, GO 174 and GO 128 standards. The Field Inspector will be the lead person for all inspection activities conducted by the California Public Utilities Commission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develops schedules for annual inspections in compliance with GO 165, GO 174
* Performs inspections of substations and overhead and underground sub-transmission and distribution facilities comprehensively and efficiently
* Completes and documents inspection findings in a timely and thorough manner
* Immediately apprise the Field Operations Supervisor or designee of all Level 1 infractions and/or other major irregularities found during inspections
* Responds promptly to requests from Underground Service Alert for underground line locations. Perform underground line locations as requested by outside entities
* Performs planned inspections of substations, overhead and underground sub-transmission and distribution facilities, in compliance with GO 165 and GO 174
* Work closely with all engineering and operations staff
* Assists engineering with field questions as required
* Assists Wildfire Mitigation & Reliability Engineer as required
* Assists Field Operations in the capacity of a Journeyman Lineman when directed to
do so
* Performs trench inspections in support of new service installation and tract
construction
* Perform minor repairs of problems detected, as directed
* Practices proper safety habits.
* Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Valid Class C California Driver license
* Three years of Journeyman Lineman or above experience required
* Ability to read, write and understand data reports of field conditions
* Demonstrated knowledge and proficient in GO 174, GO 95 and GO 128 and Bear
Valley Electric construction methods required
* Demonstrated comfort working with information technology (e.g., computerdeveloped
reports, hand-held field devices, etc.)
* Experience with GIS systems and various inspection software is a plus
* Must have experience inspecting substations, overhead and underground subtransmission
and distribution facilities
* May include but not limited to; standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or
pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, color determination,
near acuity, speaking and listening.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
