Job Description:

As an Implant Engineer, you will serve as a technical cornerstone for our semiconductor manufacturing operations, driving the research, development, and long-term sustainability of ion implant and metrology technologies. You will leverage a deep mastery of scientific principles to tackle complex technical challenges, utilizing data analysis to ensure rigorous process stability and tool qualification. This role demands a high-level troubleshooter capable of navigating electrical issues across CMOS, Bipolar, and BiCMOS processes, with a mastery of analytical tools such as JMP, Excel, and PROMIS.

This Job Is For You If
  • You have some technical background preferred in Axcelis ion implanters platforms: 8200P, NV-GSD-180, NV-GSD HE, LED and Purion.
  • You have some technical background to develop and sustain 0.35 to 0.13um RFCMOS/SiGe BiCMOS processes.
  • You have an understanding and experience in direct application of statistical process control.
  • You can work closely with device, integration, and yield engineers in a matrixed organization to drive leading edge modules development, control, and improvements.
  • You can investigate and verify activities for both issues reported by Yield and equipment-induced process impacts.
  • You can interface with Process Technicians to verify response to daily issues and assist with priority and held lots.
  • You can create PROD requests as required (assist other engineers) to enhance/maintain Promis lot processing and specifications.
  • You can create/implement improvements to existing processes such as variable DCOPs, Implant recipe optimization.
  • You can analyze E-test data, disposition problem wafers/lots, use statistical process control techniques to improve yields, and provide corrective action recommendations to solve E-test issues.
  • You can utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to solve wafer fabrication problems.
  • You can participate in teams to solve technical manufacturing problems.
  • You can write Implant Operation procedures, specifications, and documentation.
  • You can develop tools and techniques to improve failure analysis capability.
  • You can analyze and recommend capital equipment requirements for analytical tool purchases.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering required; Master's or Ph.D. in one of these disciplines strongly preferred (advanced degree or equivalent experience in semiconductor process technology).
  • Minimum 1 - 5+ years of hands-on experience operating or maintaining Axcelis ion implanter platforms (e.g., 8200P, NV-GSD-180, NV-GSD HE, LED, or Purion series).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Bipolar, CMOS, or related semiconductor fabrication technologies, including process characterization and device performance evaluation.
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills, evidenced by root-cause analysis and implementation of data-driven process improvements.
  • Ability to present complex technical findings to cross-functional teams and management through clear data visualization and written documentation.
  • Track record of mentoring or training 2-5 technicians or junior engineers, ensuring consistent process execution and equipment reliability.

Compensation:

Level II - Senior: $93,000 - $131,000
Senior 2 - Expert: $132,000 - $153,000
