Job Summary


The Manager of Recruitment & Outreach at the UCSF School of Nursing is responsible for leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive recruitment strategy for our diverse academic programs. Their portfolio includes lead generation and nurturing as a crucial part of leading students to completed applications and meeting enrollment targets.

Reporting to the Director of Learner Experience, the Manager oversees and implements:

  • Recruitment and marketing budget
  • Materials and resources
  • Digital outreach and advertising campaigns
  • In-person recruitment
  • Campaigns to enable faculty to be recruiters
  • Utilizing our CRM for drip campaigns
  • Response to inquiries
  • Production and coordination of info-sessions
  • Measurement of effort success, conversion tracking
The successful Manager will:
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across our organization and with external stakeholders
  • Utilize marketing, recruitment, and audience expertise to maximize our efforts and carefully target in order to meet our enrollment goals
  • Apply a strategic mindset and a data-driven approach to streamline processes while managing several programs with differing needs
  • Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $81,300 - $172,300.00 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

A vital part of a world-renowned health sciences campus, the UCSF School of Nursing fosters excellence, opportunity, and innovation in everything it does. With more than 150 faculty members serving in advisory and leadership capacities in policy, health care delivery, and clinical and translational research, the school has remained a leader in the preparation of nurses and sociologist for careers in academics and research and a leader in research funding awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to schools of nursing. The student body is enrolled in programs of study from the pre-licensure level through post-doctoral fellowships. Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Lead/Supervisory/Manager experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment, outreach, student support, and/or marketing
  • Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Demonstrated ability in supervising the work of others and the ability to organize and set priorities that accurately reflect department goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex documents and data specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking skills to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Effective writing and editing skills, including experience developing policy / procedures, reports and presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in health field, communications, marketing, or related discipline
  • Experience with case management or tracking systems like SLATE

License/Certification


  • Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
