ABOUT THE POSITION

Project Billing Specialist | Richmond, VA | Hybrid

VHB is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our Finance team in Richmond, Virginia. This role supports client billing and project financial administration for a variety of projects and works closely with Project Managers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate invoicing, contract compliance, and timely collections.

Responsibilities

    Responsible for monthly preparation and processing of client billings
  • Maintain project financial records and billing files
  • Assistance with project setup/budgeting; including review of contract compensation and billing methods
  • Provide both internal and external support with regards to tracking and collection of project accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable coordination with subconsultants and vendors
  • Assistance with research & resolution of client questions pertaining to invoicing
  • Support the Finance team and Project Managers with various other finance and contract related tasks

  • Strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, project, and time management skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills
  • Self-starter who can identify and actively pursue solutions to diligently advance company or client objectives with minimal direction
  • The innate desire to produce high-quality work with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take on new tasks and adapt to different work assignments and personalities
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related accounting and/or finance experience, preferrable in the AEC industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, ERP and invoicing systems required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
