About the Role
Culmen is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to support a DOD Space Force program located on a customer site in Washington, DC.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
The Business Analyst supports U.S. Space Force programs by providing acquisition, financial, analytical, and operational support across highly technical and missioncritical environments. This role bridges data analysis, program management, and mission support to ensure efficient decisionmaking for Space Force stakeholders. * Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to analyze cost, schedule, and performance data, even in nonEVM environments. * Review and assess acquisition strategies, RFPs, and CDRLs for compliance with DoD and Space Systems Command (SSC) standards, including SSCI 63107. * Evaluate contractor deliverables such as CPRs, IMS, PMRs, CFSRs for accuracy and compliance. * Conduct risk assessments, forecasting, cost/schedule trend analysis, and schedule health assessments (GAO or DCMA 14point). * Prepare inputs for acquisition reports, including SARs, DAES, MARs, PMRs. * Develop and present analysis using Power BI or other visualization tools to inform leadership and improve decisionmaking. * Identify program risks and impacts to cost, schedule, and technical performance. * Support program documentation, requirements development, and decisionsupport tools tailored to Space Force acquisition environments. * Analyze operational data to support mission readiness, planning, and operational assessments. * Collaborate with functional teams, engineers, financial analysts, and government personnel across SSC and DoD organizations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Business, Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field).
- Strong background in DoD acquisition, program analysis, or financial management.
- Experience with EVM concepts, schedule analysis, cost analysis, or program controls.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel, data visualization dashboards.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical, financial, and operational data.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in delivering risk, cost, and performance insights.

Active Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting the U.S. Space Force, Air Force, or other military programs.
- Familiarity with GAO Scheduling Assessment Guide, DCMA metrics, or SSCspecific acquisition requirements.
- Experience reviewing acquisition documentation and contractor cost/schedule deliverables.
- Understanding of space system development, launch operations, or satellite programs.
