SUMMARY


Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.



Determines method of shipment.



Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.



Inserts proper items into containers/boxes/crates.



Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with strapping.



Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.



Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.



Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Accurately count contents of received products and parts. Maintain receiving/shipping records as outlined in our procedures.



Routes items to departments and personnel.



Data entry in systems such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word



Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.



Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies to insure adequate supplies are on hand to meet production needs.



Regularly use hand tools in a safe manner. Such tools include but are not limited to: hand saws, drills, box cutters



Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to load / unload merchandise to / from trucks picking up from or delivering shipments to the loading dock.



Operates battery operated hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.



Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, transfer or transport hazardous materials and/or hazardous wastes to other locations within the facility. Unloads hazardous materials from delivery trucks and loads hazardous wastes to trucks for shipment to appropriate disposal facilities in accordance with DOT and RCRA regulations.

  • Familiarity with travelers, certificates of conformance and traceability protocols
  • Awareness of:


    • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
    • Product control under the U.S. Munitions List
    • Proper handling of products controlled under the ITAR
    • Shipping requirements for ITAR-controlled products, including shipping under an export license, use of license exemptions and tracking of shipments exported under licenses/license exemptions


  • Awareness of:


    • Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
    • Product control under the Commerce Control List
    • Proper handling of products controlled under the EAR
    • Shipping requirements for EAR-controlled products, including shipping under an export license, use of license exceptions and tracking of shipments exported under licenses/license exceptions


  • Proficient in preparing required shipping documents, including Commercial Invoice, that are compliant with the Foreign Trade Regulations
  • Proficient in use of Customs & Border Protection ACE portal and filing of AES entries
  • Proficient in use of Incoterms
  • Knowledge of ITAR exemption import requirements
  • Experience retrieving and reviewing Customs Forms 7501



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Experience with FedEx and UPS shipping software (preferred).

If this position requires access to export-controlled technology and technical data, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations and or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, any offer of employment is contingent upon Chromalloy's determination, in its sole discretion, if any additional authorization for the employee to access such technology is required and obtainable in a manner that meets its immediate business needs prior to beginning work.
