| Duties and Responsibilities |
Communication - Verbal and Written (25%)
- Manage the director's calendar, including scheduling meetings
- Assist with various administrative functions in the department, including but not limited to managing the conference rooms, signing for deliveries, managing the general office supplies budget, etc.
- Respond to general department and program-specific inquiries and concerns in the office, via phone call, and to the UREC email address or relay such inquiries and concerns to the appropriate member of the professional staff
Program Knowledge (20%)
- Actively participate as a member of the UREC professional staff team, including professional staff team meetings and assigned department committees
- Ensure that the UREC mission is achieved and values are upheld
- Contribute to the development and implementation of department strategic plans and annual goals/priorities
- Advocate for UREC and foster campus and community partnerships to advance physical activity and holistic wellbeing
- Attend and actively participate in all mandatory Health & Wellbeing Unit, Student Affairs, and UNC Charlotte meetings and trainings
- Serve on Health & Wellbeing Unit, Student Affairs, and UNC Charlotte committees and working groups as assigned
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of University Recreation
Office Technology (10%)
- Understand and effectively utilize necessary office equipment and technology
- Maintain a proficiency with Google Workspace, Do Sports Easy (DSE), Touchnet, and other software necessary to accomplish work
- Assist the Assistant Director of Business Operations and Personnel Management in cash handling procedures, payment transactions, and daily transaction reconciliation
Information/Records Administration (10%)
- Complete Electronic Personnel Action Forms for all student employees and ensure all student employees have required paperwork, certifications, etc. before starting to work
- Process student pay increases
- Complete purchases through 49er Mart and via purchasing card as necessary
- Complete travel authorizations and reconcile purchasing card transactions for the Director of University Recreation and serve as the backup for associate directors
Problem Solving (10%)
- Identify and address problems within the scope of work; refer other problems to the appropriate team member or Director of University Recreation
- Support and assist student employees at the welcome desk when necessary
