Job Title: Materials Supply Chain Planner

Job Summary:

This position is a full-time, subject matter expert and Materials Supply Chain Planner for the Gates Biomanufacturing Facility located on the Anschutz Medical Campus and serves on the Supply Chain Team. This role will serve on strategic projects and provide high-level consultation on materials planning and purchasing. This position also has master scheduling responsibilities, which encompasses scheduling projects, interdependencies, and labor resources, highlighting constraints and conflicts, and facilitating resolutions or effective changes to the plant-wide master schedule. In collaboration with the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this role will facilitate the ERP system, plan supplies, schedule manufacturing resources, and work as a member of the Supply Chain team to execute manufacturing plans and meet client requirements.

The individual in this role will use their expertise to provide holistic supply chain support, which includes analyzing sourcing, purchasing and manufacturing performance and making recommendations to leadership, and supporting the development and implementation of material planning and inventory control processes.

The Materials Supply Chain Planner will work directly with the Supply Chain Supervisor, the Program Management Office Manager, and the Quality and Operations groups to support the continuous supply of materials, to maintain adequate inventory levels, and to enable GMP Cell Therapy and Biologic production runs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the planning, master schedule, warehouse, inventory, transactions, finite scheduling, and distribution of GMP and research-grade production supplies and final products. The ability to work with time/temperature-sensitive and critically controlled materials under pressure and with tight deadlines is essential.

Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of materials needs as designated by the Management for Cell Therapy and Biological Production Departments, including production trends, requirements forecasting, and related conditions.

Assist with the implementation and administration of an electronic enterprise resource planning and inventory management system. Assist with managing all master data in the system. Performs system administration tasks as necessary. Responsible for all inventory management functions, tasks, and system set up.

Coordinate with Procurement Associate to communicate purchasing opportunities and potential supply, cost impacts to the Executive Management Team, and recommend appropriate actions to minimize any negative impact.

Assist in the resolution of product complaints and recommend supplier changes as necessary.

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and execution of picklist fulfillment, kit issuance, and warehouse functions.

Works closely with Project Management and Department Management to implement and maintain Resource Management and Capacity plans

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Production Operations, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • Three (3) years Supply Chain experience with an emphasis in one or more of the following areas:

    • Materials planning and management

    • Inventory Control

    • Warehouse Management

    • Logistics

    • Production Scheduling

  • Experience working with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Inventory Management, using an electronic ERP system (i.e., mid-market systems, such as Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics etc.).

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high inventory turn-over, critical lead times and hazardous/temperature sensitive materials.

  • APICS training with certification.

  • Experience working in an FDA regulated environment (i.e., cGMP, GDP), strongly desired.

  • Participation in a Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement team.

  • System implementation and training experience.

  • Extensive experience using Smartsheet and excel worksheet functions.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position may require weekend work and work outside of normal work hours to accommodate the completion of release testing or other critical processes which cross shifts. While not typical, this irregularity of work hours should be expected.

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficient computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Outlook required.

  • Ability to navigate a complex environment and to interpret and implement rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Must be able to consistently produce accurate, professional quality report with strong analytical capabilities.

  • Proficient in MRP and Inventory Control systems and processes.

  • Extensive working knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Inventory Management, using an electronic ERP system (i.e., mid-market systems, such as Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics etc.).

  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to influence others.

  • Possess effective time-management skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $59,396 - $75,552.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
