Lab Technician

Michigan Center, MI

1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7AM to 3:30PM/8AM to 4:30PM, with occasional overtime

Position Overview
The R&D Technician supports scientists in executing laboratory testing, validating new product introductions, and performing related technical procedures. This role occasionally assists Sales and Quality Control teams with customer investigations and production support. The position contributes directly to safe, precise, and efficient laboratory operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments.

  • Develop and document experimental protocols and techniques.

  • Train junior technicians and interns in procedures and safety.

  • Analyze data and prepare technical summaries.

  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and maintenance.

  • Maintain laboratory safety, cleanliness, and compliance.

  • Support customer complaint investigations as assigned.

  • Assist with product verification during new product introduction.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of laboratory or technical support experience in manufacturing or processing environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in handson laboratory tasks.

  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with aerosol or canister technology and related testing.

  • Experience with Instron equipment and data collection.

  • Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting and calibration.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry or a related field.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $27.35/hr to $34.19/hr based on experience.
