What You Can Expect

As our Project Management Director, you will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for executing all capital projects under the ENGIE Capital Projects organization at the Ohio State University. You'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget-while maintaining the highest standards of quality, governance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

This position is a cornerstone of ENGIE's 50-year partnership with the Ohio State University to operate, maintain, and enhance the campus utility infrastructure. The projects under your direction-ranging from lifecycle renewals to major expansions and modernization efforts-will strengthen the University's energy resilience, reliability, and sustainability for future generations.

You'll lead a multidisciplinary team of project managers and construction professionals, interface with University and ENGIE leadership, and drive continuous improvement across all delivery processes. Your success will be measured by how effectively you balance strategic oversight with hands-on guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and value-driven project delivery.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with ENGIE and University standards for safety, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Manage a portfolio of projects aligned with the University's Five-Year Plan and ENGIE's concession objectives
  • Mentor and lead a team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Construction Managers
  • Collaborate with the Business Development and Energy Delivery directors to ensure seamless project handoffs and operational integration
  • Lead governance and reporting processes, ensuring consistency in project controls, documentation, and performance metrics
  • Review contracts, bids, and procurement strategies to ensure risk is allocated correctly and mitigated
  • Serve as the primary liaison with University executives, regulatory bodies, and ENGIE's senior leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and lessons learned processes across the delivery organization.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in capital project management, utility infrastructure, or industrial construction
  • Minimum five (5) years in a senior leadership role managing teams of project managers or construction professionals
  • Proven ability to deliver large-scale, complex high-value projects safely and successfully
  • Deep understanding of project controls, contract management, and risk mitigation
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
  • Experience with Public-Private Partnership (P3) environments
  • PMP certification is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and team development

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record; involves occasional fieldwork across active construction sites
