Cart Delivery Driver

Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, hasan immediate opening for a Cart Delivery Driver to support local routes in Soldotna, AK! Have you wanted to get your CDL? We can train and pay for your Class B CDL!

Schedule is Monday through Friday. 7am-3pm. This is a 5-8 schedule.

Pay starts between $20.00 and $23.00 per hour depending on experience, licensing, and certifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to safely operate delivery truck to deliver carts.

• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections.

• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, lifting and moving containers that weigh over 75 pounds.

• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

• Courteous interaction with our customers

• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Welding dumpsters when able to per the route and other needs.

• Repair cans as needed. Possibly painting cans too.

• Washing and cleaning carts as needed for the route.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds. Moderate noise level.

• Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which requires following basic safety precautions.

• Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift at least 75lbs.

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

• Ability to weld. Position requires some welding during the day.

• Valid Driver's License required.

• Ability to obtain Class B CDL within 180 days of employment.

• Ability to pass a DOT Physical.

• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and have an acceptable driving record.
