Job Summary
Instructional Designer III will provide high level of instructional design expertise with extensive experience for the development and support of digital learning courses and curriculum and for the application of educational technologies and tools.
Minimum Education and Experience

Master's degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design or related field; five to seven years experience in course design, curriculum design or e-learning, preferably in higher education; experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and Web site design software; experience in supervisory and managerial duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
Master's or Doctor's degree in instructional technology, education, communication, information technology, curriculum design or related field; 7 plus years' experience in course design, curriculum design e-learning or instructional technology, preferably in higher education; proficiency in Canvas platform; experience designing and supporting various disciplines especially STEM courses; experiences in managing student workers and digital learning resources.

Experience in instructional technology; proficient with Learning Management Systems (LMSs), content authoring and other digital learning tools, and familiar with emerging technologies; experience in instructional design and pedagogical training; experience in supervisory and managerial duties
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Collaborate with faculty or subject matter experts (SMEs) on designing and developing digital learning courses, learning materials and resources.
* Consult with faculty/SMEs on optimal design of curriculum and instruction and the effective use of digital learning technologies.
* Manage the course development projects and the processes.
* Provide professional and technical support and training to faculty and students on using LMS and other digital learning tools.
* Develop and conduct instructional design and pedagogical training to faculty.
* Consult with and support faculty/SMEs on following the design principles and quality standards to develop best practices for effective, engaging, accessible and innovative learning experience.
* Explore and implement emerging technologies such as AI in teaching and learning
* Perform other duties as assigned which could include student worker and digital learning resource supervisory responsibilities.
