Job Description (General Summary)
We are looking for a highly hands-on and process-focused Quality Engineer to drive continuous quality improvement within our internal manufacturing operations, specifically supporting our ThermoDrive Belt Extrusion in our Cleveland, OH (Twinsburg) facility. This role is crucial for maximizing product quality, minimizing internal defects, and ensuring a world-class customer experience.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
*Provide hands-on quality support for plant operations by responding to daily production and customer quality issues, resolving process errors, and managing non-conforming materials.
*Develop, implement, and maintain quality control tools, processes, and systems (including PFMEA, control plans, SPC activities) on the shop floor to improve process efficiency and product quality.
*Lead structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) to address customer complaints, audit findings, and internal quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions.
*Analyze and report quality performance metrics (cost of poor quality, customer complaints, non-conformances) and implement improvements through data-driven decisions and collaboration with Operations and Engineering.
*Translate quality data findings into clear, actionable insights, and prepare concise reports tailored for cross-functional teams, ensuring complex quality concepts are communicated in an understandable format.
*Champions quality improvement projects that support organizational critical success factors and objectives.
*Research new quality technologies and champions implementation of valuable technologies into our environment. Stays current with industry best practices and assists in adopting internally.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support plant and organizational objectives.
Requirements
Education
*Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Plastic, Industrial, or equivalent technical field)
Experience
*Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality or Process Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience with plastics extrusion or similar web handling processes is a plus
Technical Expertise
*Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on process improvement on the factory floor
*Strong statistical analysis skills (including Process Capability Studies, Gage R&R, ANOVA) and data visualization (e.g., Pareto Charts)
*Proven ability to lead and document effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
*Skilled in applying project management principles, ensuring alignment with timelines and business priorities
*Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, InfinityQS, Statistical Software (Minitab, JMP)

*A high level of comfort working directly with production operators and supervision
*A passion for creating sustainable quality solutions
*Demonstrated record of self-management, teamwork, and trust
*Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills with engineering groups, operations groups, customers, suppliers, and contractors

Additional information
*Ability to travel domestically (~10%)
*Willingness to work weekends, holidays and overtime when required
*Work Environment: Primarily office and shop floor; supporting 24/5 operations, with occasional weekend production
