Lab Assistant

Temple University's School of Medicine is searching for a Part-Time Lab Assistant!

Salary Range: $22.44/hr.

Position Summary:
Reporting to PIs in the Center for Neurovirology and Gene Editing, the part-time lab assistant provides generally non-technical support to the research lab.

Job Details:
* This is a grant funded position

Required Education and Experience:
* Minimum of one year of relevant experience

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Experience and knowledge of laboratory equipment required
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of applicable computer software.

Essential Duties:
* Operating autoclave
* Washing and sterilizing buffers, drying supplies & tools
* Placing orders for CO2 and LN2, monitoring and changing CO2 tanks for incubators and liquid nitrogen tanks for cryofreezers
* Monitoring and changing glass wash bins
* Packaging glove trash from laboratory for biohazard waste removal
* Arranging for hazardous chemical removal pickups.
* Performs other duties as assigned
