Production Supervisor

Union, MO

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Production Supervisor, you'll play a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our manufacturing operation. You'll be responsible for guiding daily production activities, developing and motivating a high-performing team, and ensuring our products are built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for a people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in turning plans into results.

If you're energized by coaching teams, solving problems on the floor, and continuously improving how work gets done, this role gives you the opportunity to make a visible and meaningful impact every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

In this role, you'll be trusted to lead both people and performance. On a daily basis, you can expect to:

  • Lead and support a production team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect.
  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor key production metrics (output, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency) and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion safety on the production floor by enforcing safety standards, conducting daily checks, and supporting incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Plan labor and resources effectively, adjusting staffing and priorities as production demands change.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues, minimize downtime, and maintain product standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices, 5S, standard work, and waste reduction.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with leadership and peers on production status, challenges, and priorities.
  • Create a positive, engaged work environment where employees feel supported, heard, and motivated to do their best work.

ABOUT YOU:

You're a confident, hands-on leader who balances operational discipline with a people-first mindset. You likely bring:

  • A high school diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold others accountable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfort working with production data, reports, and metrics to drive performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with manufacturing or ERP systems.
  • A solid understanding of safety regulations and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • The ability to be present and engaged on the production floor, including standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
