Cloud Architect Washington, DC (remote) Pay From: $115,000 per year MUST: Experienced Cloud Architect 8+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions for federal or large enterprise environments Demonstrated experience leading large scale cloud migration projects, including hybrid and multi cloud architectures. Deep knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800 53, and federal security and compliance frameworks Experience defining and implementing cloud landing zones for regulated federal environments. Experience establishing migration factory patterns, wave planning methods, and repeatable migration runbooks. Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep. Familiarity with CSP native logging, monitoring, and security services for continuous monitoring evidence and operational readiness. Experience supporting DevSecOps pipeline alignment to architecture standards and automated compliance checks At least one current professional cloud certification, for example AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field DUTIES: Own target state cloud architecture and landing zone patterns, including identity, network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, and shared services, aligned to federal security requirements and supporting Government architecture reviews and acceptance. Lead migration strategy and approach selection across the portfolio, including hybrid and multi cloud design considerations, and define standard migration patterns for repeatable execution. Drive migration wave planning inputs and migration factory governance, including architecture readiness criteria, dependencies, and technical risk mitigation. Translate FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800 53, RMF, and related federal compliance frameworks into implementable technical requirements, architecture standards, and acceptance criteria. Establish and enforce technical quality gates prior to deliverable submission, ensuring architecture deliverables are complete, compliant, and acceptance ready. Provide stakeholder communications and technical leadership through architecture reviews, decision logs, and clear tradeoff recommendations to Government and internal stakeholders. Guide observability and performance monitoring approach using CSP native capabilities, ensuring reliable operations and evidence for continuous monitoring expectations. Support DevSecOps enablement by aligning architecture patterns with Infrastructure as Code and automated compliance and evidence capture.
