The Electrician I is an skilled trade role responsible for performing basic electrical work while learning and developing technical skills. Works under close supervision to assist with installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Assist with basic installs, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, service equipment, and fixtures under the direction of senior personnel in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Pull wire, run conduit, install outlets, lighting, and basic electrical components
  • Support senior electricians with more complex tasks and troubleshooting
  • Maintain and ensure the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools according to company policy and OSHA
  • Maintain accurate daily time sheets
  • Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment
  • Participate in required safety training and adhere to all safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Capable of using all electrical testing equipment and electrical tools
  • Ability to work at different heights with necessary safety equipment
  • Must be available to be on call
  • Requires out-of-town overnight stays
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing job priorities



Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:



  • Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50lbs
  • Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Frequently Climbing and/or balancing
  • Frequently working outside in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language

Education
High School (required)
General Education Diploma (preferred)
Experience
Experience with National Electrical Codes and OSHA regulations (preferred)
Experience bending and installing Rigid and EMT conduit (preferred)
2 years: Previous electrical experience (required)
