Overview

The Planning Analyst will act as a subject matter expert regarding regulatory activities in Customer Operations coordinating rate case activities, preparing regulatory filings, and coordinating implementation of PSC Orders. This role in the Customer Operations Regulatory and Strategy section is an opportunity to apply cross-disciplinary skills, collaborate closely with diverse teams, and directly contribute to the planning, development, and execution of strategy for the Customer Operations organization's programs and services.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Keep up to date with regulatory proceedings that impact the Company and customers.
  • Regularly create insightful and detailed analysis on regulatory issues and business trends. Support development of materials and presentations to upper management and executives as well as outside stakeholders.
  • Interpret regulatory filings and coordinate cross-functional teams to comply with new or revised regulations.
  • Prepare fillings and responses to Commission Orders and Notices regarding Customer Operations programs, such as community distributed generation and bill discount programs for income-qualified customers. Prepare testimony, exhibits, and work papers for use in regulatory proceedings.
  • Support Customer Operations compliance with Commission Orders, rate case and other regulatory requirements including development and coordination of project plans.
  • Maintain well-organized files and accurate records including maintaining back-up for reports and computer files, and safeguarding computer facilities, reports and work papers.
  • Perform other administrative duties to include but not limited to training coordination, events planning and various procurement responsibilities.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years' work experience in analyst or managerial position with skill in operational analyses.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Demonstrated analytical experience, required.
  • Experience in research and report writing, required.
  • Must have strong writing skills, required.
  • Must have the ability to interact and partner with various levels of management and internal/external organizations, required.
  • Must have experience handling multiple assignments and changing priorities, required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required.
  • Must be able to work independently, take full owernship of assignments, and adapt to fluid circumstances, required.
  • Experience working independently and making sound business decisions, preferred.
  • Experience in project management, preferred.
  • Regulatory or energy industry experience, preferred.
  • Experience developing policy positions, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
  • Must be able to participate in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
