The Office of University Communications at the University of Virginia is responsible for telling the remarkable and evolving story of UVA. Our team of writers, artists, strategists, communicators, and brand stewards proudly celebrate, promote, and publicize the University's iconic reputation, accomplishments, brand, and history. University Communications works to inform and inspire audiences, ensuring the University's impact is widely recognized across the UVA community, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and beyond. Position SummaryThe Office of University Communications seeks a Front-End Developer who is passionate about merging the art of web design and programming to showcase UVA Today news stories, multimedia, and other marketing content across UVA websites and mass email platforms. In this role, the Front-End Developer will curate a range of written and visual news content daily and create beautiful, accessible, and often interactive web pages and emails that engage diverse audiences. This position is part of a four-person Digital Development and User Experience team and collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary group of professionals including news writers, editors, photographers, video producers, designers, and marketers. Together, this team supports University Communications' mission to position UVA as a national model of excellence in public higher education. Responsibilities Web & Email Development
This position is primarily sedentary and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and University programs. Salary RangeAnticipated hiring range: $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with education and experience. Position Type & Work Location
