The Development Officer is a key frontline fundraiser responsible for advancing Duke Arts' philanthropic priorities. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will plan, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive annual giving, engagement, and stewardship program for individuals, corporations, and foundations.



What You'll Do:

* Lead annual giving strategy, donor cultivation, and stewardship activities.

* Manage and grow a portfolio of prospects to strengthen the major gifts pipeline.

* Coordinate engagement activities, communications, and Duke Arts Advisory Board interactions.

* Collaborate with colleagues across Duke University to support multi-interest prospects.



What You Bring

You bring a combination of education, experience, and personal strengths that prepare you to thrive in a dynamic, relationship-driven fundraising environment.

Education/Training:

A Bachelor's degree.

Experience:



  • 3 years of progressive fundraising, customer relations, marketing, or sales/promotion experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer environments.
  • Occasional travel required.

Anticipated Pay Range

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,535.00 to USD $95,880.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
