The Opportunity:

The Nichols lab is seeking a Research Program Coordinator who will be responsible for managing daily operations, including inventory, chemical cataloging, animal care, routine experiments, data analysis, and providing oversight to students in the lab.

Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating in vivo and in vitro experiments, ensuring proper timing for tissue collection, imaging, and molecular assays.

  • Ensure proper documentation of chemical inventory with EH&S Online system, ensure proper waste removal, purchase supplies to maintain inventory, track purchase orders.

  • Maintain detailed logs of experimental procedures, animal models, and treatment protocols for reproducibility and compliance.

  • Assist students with manuscript organization, editing and formatting.

  • Ensure students are collecting, storing, and analyzing data in a consistent and accurate

  • Attend scheduled in-person meetings with Dr. Nichols and/or the full laboratory team to provide updates on lab operations, discuss trainee development, and support collaborative decision-making.

  • Responsible for maintaining copies of data sets for long-term storage.

  • Timely completion of university and college required trainings and updates.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of lab management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a similarly related field.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030 - $60,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
