Overview

This position reports to the Virginia (VA) Class Propulsion Plant Electrical Manager and supports the entire department in an engineering support capacity. Applicant must possess a high degree of professionalism, be able to maintain confidentiality with all business & personnel matters, and be capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Applicant must be able to support time-critical assignments and interface with all levels of management throughout the enterprise.

Job assignments for this position include but are not limited to the following:

    Support the preparation of power point slides for major program reviews and executive updates (i.e. Senior EB Management Reviews and Program Design Reviews with Senior NAVSEA Leadership)
  • Developing and maintaining metrics required to support status reporting to Senior EB Management
  • Tracking program commitments (including managing all commitment reports and reporting status on them)
  • Monitoring and tracking all departmental correspondence (including verification of accurate security labeling, proper peer or senior technical reviews, accuracy of transferring internal and external commitments and completing internal and external distribution)
  • Monitoring and maintaining Departmental Overhead Budget
  • Work with Department Quality Advocate to assign Cornerstone training for departmental staff and ensuring compliance with company requirements
  • Provide oversight to Department Hiring efforts. Participate in the weekly Directorate hiring meeting.
  • Tracking Departmental labor charging
  • Maintain Engineering calculation log
  • Act in the capacity as the departmental RadCon Coordinator
  • Act as the Department Total Product Quality (TPQ) rep. Duties include preparing the Department's annual TPQ plan and quarterly reports.
  • Prepare the Department's annual Self-Assessment Analysis. Develop and track resulting commitments from it.
  • Track shop order/funding performance and generate BCR/BOEs as appropriate
  • Coordinate with Program Office to identify correct task for new activities or obtain funding for new projects/initiatives
  • Provide status updates at weekly product meetings
  • Assist with preparation for KAPL program reviews (if they happen)


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of administrative experience in various roles supporting business needs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in all facets of MS Office
  • Proven performance for delivering product output with accuracy and timeliness

  • MS Excel -basic skills of building data tables, developing charts, manipulating table and chart formats to use in reporting documents, as well as advance skills with developing and maintaining databases using calculation functions and automatic updating features
  • MS Power Point -basic skills with developing and updating slides/slide master and inserting and formatting information extracted from external documents as well as advance skills creating tables and charts to be embedded, and developing custom slide presentations
  • MS Project -basic skills of developing detailed schedules with activities and associated start and finish dates as well as advance skills developing predecessor and successor linked activities, resource loading and activity progress tracking
  • Access to CITIS and knowledge of use
  • Knowledge and use of Commitment and Commitment Report Databases
  • Proven performance for delivering product output with accuracy and timeliness
