Responsibilities:

We are looking for Production Associates to join our growing team at Vitro Architectural Glass in Carlisle, PA. At our manufacturing facilities, we value continuous learning, innovation and safety. We want this career to benefit you and we will do as much as we can to develop you professionally.

Essential Requirements:

• Ability to work the following shifts: 12-Hour Rotating Shifts, Holidays, Weekends and Overtime
• Good attendance is important to our team Vitro. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a history of good attendance and who welcome overtime.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Able to work fast and efficient and willing to work overtime
• Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to effectively communicate

Physical Demands:

• For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• There can be repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds
• In addition, this position requires the following abilities: standing, walking, lifting, reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting.

Specific Job Requirements:

• Communicates with the Automatic Packer Attendants and Wareroom Supervisors to a high and accurate degree to assure a smooth flow of glass to the lines with a multitude of size changes
• Monitors ribbon quality and makes appropriate decisions based on same
• Maintains proper line flow on mainline and to all packing areas
• Maintains and enacts emergency plans for various situations on the line
• Performs required record keeping and communicates potential line flow and equipment problems
• Monitors and operates the cullet system, automatic inspection, stain inhibitor spray ("W") system, and the mainline allocation system
• Observes all plant rules and works in a safe manner to prevent injury to himself, other employees, or to plant equipment
• Utilizes Quality Improvement Process concepts in all phases of work activities to ensure the highest quality product possible
• May be required to examine and mark defects in the glass ribbon
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor
