Description and Requirements

Location requirement: Within commuting distance of Morrisville, North Carolina

The Lenovo North America Communications Team brings Lenovo's products and services to life through engaging content and storytelling across public relations, internal communications, executive communications, social media, and video production.

Summary of the Role:
We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join the North America PR and Communications Team to support across all functions, including public relations, executive communications, channel/partner communications, internal communications, and community engagement.

This unique role will assist team/project leaders in the planning and execution of several large-scale, strategic campaigns and initiatives throughout the year, including our annual Sales Kickoff, PR storytelling around our key events and partnerships, and planning for our Love on Month of Service.

The ideal candidate is someone with 3-5 years of PR agency or in-house experience with excellent written and oral communications skills. They will be a self-motivated individual who can work independently but also someone who can take direction from colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position will support multiple strategic priorities: North America press events, brand storytelling, content creation, thought leadership, and employee engagement across business groups in the geography
  • Build brand reputation for Lenovo and its full AI-powered, pocket-to-cloud portfolio
  • Support PR Team with media outreach and speaking engagement coordination for Lenovo-led and industry events
  • Collaborate with agency partners to craft media pitches
  • Identify awards and speaking opportunities and draft submissions
  • Develop and review first drafts of briefing books and other prep materials for spokespeople
  • Assist our Executive Communications Manager with development of content for annual Sales Kickoff and quarterly All Hands
  • Assist our Community Engagement Manager with planning and execution of Love on Month of Service activities
  • Support Channel Communications Manager in development of assets for our internal channel team and our reseller partners
  • Manage team repository of files and materials
  • Collaborate with Public Relations, Social Media, Internal Comms, and Community Engagement colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment in storytelling
  • Regularly track performance against quarterly and annual KPIs

Required Skills:

  • The candidate for this role should be an excellent writer and project manager with attention to detail
  • A self-starter attitude is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to assist in managing agencies and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong time management skills - with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively to meet deadlines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience within the PR and Comms field.
  • Prior experience working in/with the technology industry is required.
  • Experience supporting PR and Comms for C-suite level executives/clients
