Project & Safety Coordinator

Tecta America Colorado
Position Type: Non-Exempt
Salary: $28.00+ per hour (DOE)
Reports To: Vice President & Operations Manager

Position Summary
The Project & Safety Coordinator provides daily operational and safety support for Tecta America Colorado. This role serves as a key connector between sales, production, service, and the field by ensuring projects are properly set up, documented, communicated, and closed out - while also owning day-to-day safety administration and coordination.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining execution quality, clear communication, and a strong safety culture across production and service work. The Project & Safety Coordinator is not a Project Manager, but a high-impact support role that drives consistency, follow-through, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Operational Coordination
  • Coordinate project handoff from sales to production, ensuring scopes, documentation, and expectations are clearly communicated.
  • Create, organize, and maintain complete job files including contracts, scopes, permits, checklists, change orders, daily communications, closeout documents, and warranties.
  • Support Superintendents and Project Managers with scheduling coordination, documentation, and internal communication.
  • Assist with owner and property manager communication related to documentation, closeout, and warranty requirements.
  • Support service operations with documentation, coordination, and administrative needs as required.
  • Help standardize project startup and closeout processes across replacement projects.


Safety Coordination & Administration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety administration within the operating unit.
  • Conduct new-hire safety orientations.
  • Develop and distribute weekly toolbox talks for production and service crews.
  • Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans.
  • Track safety training, incidents, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.
  • Own internal follow-up related to incidents, near misses, and safety documentation.
  • Support vehicle and driver safety initiatives, including coordination related to Samsara reporting and follow-up.
  • Own monthly corporate safety reporting and documentation, and participate in monthly corporate safety calls to represent Tecta America Colorado and support alignment with corporate.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Required)
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and follow through without constant direction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across office, field, and leadership teams.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Preferred)
  • Construction or roofing industry experience.
  • Familiarity with project documentation, closeouts, and warranty processes.
  • Experience supporting safety programs or compliance activities.
  • Experience working in a service-oriented or owner-direct construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP or project management systems (e.g., Navision).

Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Office-based with regular interaction with field operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive computer work; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Limited local travel may be required for training or jobsite support.
  • Hours: Subject to overtime as business needs require.
