Description

Sr. Software Project Managers in IS, lead software development teams by facilitating agile software development ceremonies in partnership with the team Business Analyst. They also act as Release Leads for deployments of software changes including partnering with a Technical Writer to create, update, and gain necessary approvals for deployment paperwork. They work with stakeholders, managers, and portfolio managers to assist in prioritizing and scoping upcoming work as well as report project status frequently to the managers, portfolio manager, and Business Process Owner. This role is also tasked with creating and maintaining high level project plans for cross-team projects and assisting with communicating status, risks, and blockers to higher level leadership. Sr. Project Mangers partner with other PMs to contribute to process definition and improvement and representing compliance to Quality Management processes in audits.

Primary Duties

  • Lead development teams during all phases of software development lifecycle including facilitating appropriate scrum ceremonies.
  • Act as the team/project interface to other teams at bioMerieux.
  • Facilitate communication and project documentation for the team or cross-team projects as assigned.
  • Set and communicate project milestones for the team and determine effort required to implement a software design.
  • Work with the team architect to assign software engineers as technical subject matter experts on projects.
  • Facilitate the creation and execution of software test plans that follow appropriate local or global processes.
  • Identify risks and blockers to the team or project and manage solutions.
  • Work with Technical Writer to complete and get necessary approvals for Deployment Documentation
  • Ensure adherence to Software Release processes.
  • Suggest, gain approval for, and implement improvements/enhancements to software based on stakeholder and team feedback.
  • Asses the quality of third-party components for use in software development.
  • Understand and accomplish department goals.
  • Understand the enterprise systems used by bioMerieux .
  • Understand bioMerieux's mission, values, and core technologies.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Information Systems, Software Development, or a related field with 5 years of experience in writing and maintaining software or managing software projects:

    • Writing technical documentation for software projects
    • Understanding of software engineering practices, including design, project organization, and configuration management
    • Strong planning, organizational, and writing skills

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience in writing and maintaining software or managing software projects:

    • Writing technical documentation for software projects
    • Understanding of software engineering practices, including design, project organization, and configuration management
    • Strong planning, organizational, and writing skills
  • Experience managing international projects preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in Jira/Confluence (focus on board/sprint administration and reporting)
  • ServiceNow familiarity preferred
  • Azure DevOps familiarity preferred

Travel: 5% Domestic, 5% International

The estimated salary range for this role based in Utah is between $101,100 - 125,700. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
