The Human Resource (HR) Shared Services Office is seeking a Safety Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. This key position will administer the safety program and serve as the point of contact for all related matters statewide. Commonwealth Safety Coordinators have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other safety professionals while independently managing their own safety programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Safety Coordinator, you will be maintaining the agency's safety program to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and standards; published directives; collective bargaining agreements; the Accident and Illness Prevention Program; the Personnel Rules; and past practices. Work involves providing guidance and recommendations to all levels of management in the creation and formulation of policy and promotion of sound safety practices. You will also be responsible for providing safety related communication and training to employees regarding the agency's safety policies, procedures, and contact information. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to investigate workplace injuries or review investigations conducted by agency personnel to identify root causes and corrective actions. Additional responsibilities include:
- Facilitating meetings with agency personnel to review incidents
- Participating in labor/management meetings as a safety subject matter expert
- Analyzing the reporting of incidents and illnesses by the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to evaluate the effectiveness of the reporting system
- Taking a lead role in maintaining a safe work environment within the Commissions through inspections, interpreting, and explaining proper safety procedures
- Working closely with the Department of General Services and other state agencies in regards to safety hazards
- Developing and conducting training in safety related topics

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Note: Work address is flexible and may be changed to the nearest office location to the selected candidate's home.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Human Resource Analyst 1 or Equal Opportunity Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of analytical experience that includes one year of professional human resource or equal opportunity experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
