THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will collaborate with other supervisors regularly to ensure seamless continuity of care and supervision. As a key resource and mentor, you will support nursing staff, nursing administration, the interdisciplinary team, and resident support services, fostering a spirit of teamwork. Your daily presence and continuous reviews will allow you to oversee all aspects of nursing services and serve as a strong advocate for residents to receive high-quality care. Additionally, you will play a vital leadership role in overseeing clinical operations, including the planning, coordination, management, and evaluation of patient care across multiple service areas. You will also establish and maintain a safe therapeutic environment for residents and staff, provide ongoing education and on-the-job training to all nursing staff, and apply your knowledge while following hospital and nursing policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM), Sunday - Saturday, rotating days off during the week, and a 30-minute lunch. You will be required to work every third weekend. Your schedule may change based on operational needs. During training, your work hours will be 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
