Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Mechanical Technical Trainer to join our team. This critical role is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing technical training programs for all new mechanical maintenance and operations staff, specifically focusing on press shop equipment and processes. The successful candidate will ensure all personnel adhere to the highest safety standards and possess the mechanical competency required for efficient, reliable, and safe operation and maintenance. , While also actively supporting the wider Health and Safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training Development and Delivery
    • Design and Implement: Develop comprehensive training curricula, materials (presentations, manuals, hands-on exercises), and assessment tools covering mechanical standards, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and press shop specific machinery (e.g., stamping presses, transfer systems, coil handling equipment, assembly of mechanical systems from components).
    • Safety Instruction: Deliver mandatory training on all mechanical safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding, safe tool usage, confined space entry, and hazard recognition within the press shop.
    • Mechanical Standards: Train new hires and existing staff on company mechanical standards, best practices, technical drawings, schematics interpretation, and the proper use of maintenance management systems (CMMS).
    • Hands-on Coaching: Provide practical, hands-on training and mentorship on the shop floor to ensure theoretical knowledge is effectively applied in a live environment.
  • Technical Support for all shop floor mechanical processes.
    • Floor Support: Act as a technical resource for the press shop, providing on-the-job guidance and refresher training to resolve complex mechanical issues and reduce downtime.
    • Standardization: Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure all training content reflects the most current equipment specifications, repair procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Performance Evaluation: Conduct post-training evaluations and competency assessments to measure effectiveness and ensure trainees meet the required mechanical and safety standards before working independently.
  • Documentation and Continuous Improvement
    • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed, accurate records of all training sessions, participant attendance, test scores, and certification statuses.
    • Content Review: Regularly review and update training materials to address equipment changes, procedural updates, and root cause analysis findings from safety or mechanical incidents.
    • Feedback Integration: Solicit feedback from trainees, managers, and safety personnel to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in make-to-order assembly role.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
