Summary

APPRENTICE MECHANIC
DUTIES:
1. Under direct supervision performs all required tasks related to the trade associated
with the respective project. Works with and assists Mechanic of a higher grade.
2. Under general supervision, performs tasks, which the Apprentice has completed and
signed off in the Apprenticeship program.
3. Maintains the cleanliness and housekeeping of workshops and equipment in current
work areas.
4. Completes training in the Apprenticeship Program at the pace and knowledge level
prescribed in the Apprentice and Training Standard.

Education, Experience and Certifications

1. High school graduate or equivalent and electrical and mechanical aptitude.
2. Must be accepted into the Apprenticeship Program in accordance with the
Apprenticeship Agreement.

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $34.25 per hour.
