Job Overview

Responsible for managing the daily operation and workflow for the Ultrasound department. Functions as the clinical leader/expert in ultrasound.

We are seeking a highly motivated, well organized, Ultrasound Supervisor to join our Imaging leadership team. This position will help support a team of up to 25 technologists across our system of care. This role provides daily leadership, ensures high-quality imaging standards, and supports onboarding, education, and workflow efficiency. Ideal candidates have pediatric ultrasound experience, prior leadership background, strong critical-thinking skills, and a flexible, adaptable approach.

Additional Information
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, work hours may vary based on the needs of the department. Weekends and holidays will be required as part of a leadership call rotation.

Travel will be required to support to our system of care locations.

Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements annual work plans to achieve goals and performance metrics.

  • Participates in leadership activities for department, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates team performance. Defines and maintains internal processes for section; supports customer service standards and handles operational and customer service escalations for section. Serves as a champion of organization culture, influencing culture change to support section objectives.

  • Manages communications to the organization on projects and hot topics related to section. Maintains effective working relationships with peers in section, peers in other divisions, and senior leadership.

  • Directs day to day technical duties for department. Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.

  • Participates in developing budget recommendations and in monitoring budget.

  • Works on complex projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.

  • Ensures compliance against federal, state, and local regulations for section.

  • Actively participates in the development and monitoring of compliance with all regulatory agencies and federally funded programs, productivity analysis, quality/performance improvement and patient/employee safety.

  • Provides high quality patient care through the use of effective communication that explains the ultrasound exam and ensures patient comfort and safety and independently produces high quality ultrasound images.

  • Maintains ACR accreditations for all locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education- Bachelor's Degree and completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program

  • Equivalency - Experience will substitute for education on a year for year basis

  • Experience - Four (4) years of clinical ultrasound experience

    • Previous pediatric experience preferred.

    • Previous leadership experience is also preferred.

  • Certification - RDMS (abd), RVT and BLS required; Pediatric sonography credential required within 1 year of hire.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $97,718.13 to $146,577.19
