Job Description

X-Ray Casting Inspector - 1st Shift (Tuesday - Saturday)

Location: Eastlake Facility, 34300 Melinz Parkway

Join our team and play a key role in ensuring the quality of our castings! We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Casting Inspector to inspect rough castings, maintain supplies, and provide training in our state-of-the-art facility.

Position Overview:

As an X-Ray Casting Inspector, you will take radiographic images of castings, develop films, perform tests and calibrations, and ensure all work meets customer and company quality standards. You'll also provide Level I training and help maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take radiographic images of castings and develop film using the processor.

  • Perform tests, calibrations, and document results according to procedures.

  • Develop and maintain rough casting x-ray techniques and interpret film to meet customer requirements.

  • Inventory, store, and maintain x-ray film and chemicals per QEI 17.1 requirements.

  • Mix chemicals accurately according to instructions.

  • Make, maintain, and replace fixtures and film cassettes.

  • Provide Level I training and pass Level I exams.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to plant and department safety rules.

  • Safely operate all equipment and tools, reporting any safety issues.

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • X-Ray Level I Certification in accordance with NDTQ and NAS-410.

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.

  • Ability to read and follow customer requirements and specifications.

  • Ability to lift/move objects weighing 30-50 pounds occasionally.

  • Experience in x-ray interpretation is a plus.

  • Must pass annual eye exam.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in applicable procedural instructions.

  • Meet or exceed defined visual acuity standards.

  • Meet color perception standards needed to perform job duties.
