The Role:

Kao is seeking a 3rd Shift Supervisor (Process Operations Lead) (also known as a Liquid Making Team Lead internally) who will manage the assigned Liquid Making Shift operation and personnel!

Reporting to the Processing Manager, you will coordinate production schedule requirements with Packaging Team Leader and will ensure production is achieved in safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. You will also optimize processes to improve safety, quality, or efficiency.

This is a third shift position, on site, working hours from 10pm - 6:30am,



  • First weekly shift starts Sunday night at 10 PM
  • Last weekly shift ends Friday at 6:30AM.
  • Weekend coverage is occasionally necessary due to business needs.Paid supervisor over time.

What you will do:



  • Production management

    • Delivery of production schedule for the shift
    • Make decisions to overcome production constraints to deliver production schedule on time
    • Ensure all production records are filled out properly
    • Ensure compliance with all FDA Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Quality Assurance Standards


  • People management and leadership

    • Provide guidance to the team
    • Ensure safety procedures, LOTO, PPE, and SOPs are being followed
    • Evaluate 3rd shift performance and skills thru formal performance assessment.
    • Manage 3rd shift hourly staff time-off.


  • Communication and reporting

    • Identify, write, and obtain approval for all required Departmental Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
    • Audit and update current SOP's and WI's as required as needed and by company policy.
    • Report to Liquid Making Processing Manager any shift occurrences or foreseen technical and people risks.
    • Communicate with Packing 3rd Shift Team Lead and align on production occurrences as well as with Quality and Technical service teams.


  • Liquid Making process knowledge

    • Familiarize with weighing process, batching/campaign process, and multi-tank making process (making, cooling and storage tanks).
    • Trouble shoot equipment and process issues affecting safety, quality, and production.

      • Examples: process lines, tank vessels, processing devices (FV, TIT, PIT, etc.), homogenizers, heat exchangers, pumps.
      • Communicate to the management and technical service team.


    • Effective utilization of Making Department personnel and processing equipment.
    • Evaluate current operations and provide suggestions for improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency.




What you will need:



  • 8+ years' experience in a production environment: batch making process preferrable.
  • or 8+ years' experience as a Plant Services. (maintenance) technician or Quality Services (lab tech) technician or a production technical support team.
  • 5+ years' experience leading people.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Preferred.
