ABOUT THE JOB:

The Senior Accountant in the ASC 842 Lease Accounting team is responsible for the coordination, calculation, preparation, financial analysis and reporting of the Company critical accounting estimates for accounting management and finance leadership. This individual will work jointly with various operational, finance and accounting teams to coordinate the monthly process, preparing monthly journal entries, perform necessary analysis and prepare reports and presentations for management.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Participation in the monthly close process, including preparing and booking assigned journal entries timely and in accordance with internal and external reporting. Validate income statement expenses for operating equipment, financing equipment and real estate leases.
  • Participate in the monthly reconciliations and roll forwards of balance sheet accounts in Blackline, ensuring accounts are reconciled timely, reconciling items are addressed, and reconciliations are updated as efficiencies and improvements are identified.
  • Research technical accounting guidance for complex leases to determine the proper accounting treatment. Be responsible for finance lease process/work with treasury department on financing for finance leases and assist with lease buyouts of financing equipment.
  • Prepare the financial statement disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Work with Finance team to assist with quarterly and yearly budgets. Assist in quarterly reviews and the annual audit process .
  • Perform key SOX Controls over ASC 842 to ensure compliance with internal processes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA or CPA candidate
  • 2-5+ years of public accounting or public company/large company experience


Required Skills and Abilities:



  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and entire Office suite
  • Experience using SAP or large ERP systems required; Blackline experience preferred
  • Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze new information
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives when working independently and is resourceful with ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Positive, motivated contributor to the Company's all hands on deck atmosphere
