What's the role?

The Head of Marketing, US OPT (Senior Director) leads U.S. OPT marketing strategy and execution, supporting sales goals, managing the marketing budget, and ensuring alignment across departments, in the US and globally. Understands and addresses market needs and drives all U.S. marketing activities for the business. Responsible for Marketing Team management and performance.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Direct U.S. OPT marketing to deliver annual sales and profit targets.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with business leadership and product development to support product initiatives and launches, as well as the vision for OPT.

  • Hire, manage, train and develop OPT marketing staff.

  • Manage department budget and compensation programs.

  • Build productive relationships across stakeholders, including customers and vendors.

  • Plan and manage promotional campaigns, trade show materials, sales meetings and focus groups.

  • Solid understanding of the current landscape in the world of Eye Care (US).

  • Identify market trends and opportunities to strengthen commercial performance.

  • Lead cross functional teams across ZICC, KOL, PE to ensure clear and consistent messaging.

Do you qualify?

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive marketing and sales/sales management experience, or related experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Minimum 5 years personnel management experience
  • Capital equipment and consumable experience in the medical / surgical setting, ophthalmology preferred.
  • Ophthalmology / Optometry relationships critical, both industry and MD/OD preferred
  • Strong direct sales "downstream marketing" experience mandatory
  • Strong marketing leadership, analytical and decision-making skills critical
  • Polished oral presentation and written communication skills
  • Experienced knowledge of financial analysis and analysis tools (i.e. spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Organizational agility to work across functions, business sectors and customers and markets
  • Experience in other functional areas, product marketing, product development, sales, finance and other customer facing roles a plus. Translating business objectives into the brand portfolio strategy and implementation plans
  • Successful product launch and multi-department strategy experience.

The annual pay range for this position:

  • National US: $201,100 - $251,400

  • SF Bay Area: $223,100 - $278,900

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
