This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role plays a critical part in facilitating ABB's business growth and supporting various divisions across India, covering multiple locations and clusters. We are seeking highly motivated and innovative professionals for positions such as Associate Project Engineer / Principal Project Engineer / Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer. This is a valuable opportunity to become part of our talent pool and be considered for upcoming roles across diverse regions and customer sites.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
  • Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
  • Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
  • Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications for the role

  • You enjoy preparing project documentation and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
  • You have 3 to 18 years of experience in Engineering, Commissioning, Planning and Technical Management for:
    PLC, DCS, SCADA substation automation
    LV (ACB, MCB, MCCB & PCC, MCC) & MV (AIS, GIS, RMU & Relays) Switchgear
    LV and HV Motors, HT Motors
    VFD Drives
    Excitation Systems
    Excitation Systems
    Analyzers (Liquid, Water & Gas)
    Field Instruments
    Power Electronics & PCB
  • Ensures quality and timely implementation of projects within the targeted cost.
  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering from a reputed university (should be full-time)
  • You are at ease communicating in English
