Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a Corporate Practice Intern, you'll be embedded with the deal team and work along side our corporate and M&A attorneys to keep transactions moving, build pitch materials, automate workflows, and translate data into insights. It's a hands-on role where you'll learn how corporate transaction matters are run, contribute directly to client deliverables, and develop skills that translate across legal, operations, and business development.

What you'll do

  • Transactional support: Draft status reports and presentations; prepare standard client and transaction documents; manage signature logistics (distribution, collection, checklists); assist with annual corporate filings.
  • Business development: Build and format pitch materials (PowerPoint, video, Canva); coordinate client events, webinars, speaking engagements, and CLE workshops; track activities and client engagement in CRM systems.
  • Research and reporting: Conduct industry and company research to support prospecting; compile data for RFPs; generate automated reports to track business development momentum.
  • Communications and marketing: Update lawyer biographies; draft and coordinate firmapproved social media content; document attorney experience for proposals and Foundation updates.
  • Process automation and data management: Create document and correspondence templates; implement data entry automation; support CRM integration with document management systems.
  • Proactively adopt and operationalize legal AI applications to streamline research, contract review, e-discovery, and analytics, documenting workflows and quality controls to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Record time entries accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication with clients, lawyers, and business professionals while safeguarding confidentiality.
  • Be present onsite during regular working hours and as required; work additional hours when needed to meet client or firm deadlines.

  • Core skills: Proficiency with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and basic AI applications; strong document and information management habits; clear written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset; organization and attention to detail; ability to juggle multiple deadlines and work calmly under pressure, including independent work.
  • Preferred exposure: Experience in a professional office environment

Education and experience

  • Four-year degree.

Work setting

  • Onsite Monday-Thursday, remote eligible on Fridays

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to 10 paid holidays, and family care benefits. This position may be filled in the following location(s). The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Illinois compensation range: $49,380.00 to $70,290.00 annually
