Senior Financial Analyst - JLL

What this job involves - We are currently seeking a Senior Real Estate Financial Analyst to join our Public Institutions (PI) group. This position will support the Army Portfolio Management team in Washington, DC, providing oversight for the Army's Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI). MHPI is an excellent example of an effective Public-Private Partnership (P3) Program and involves a 50-year ground lease between the Army and private sector residential developers. MHPI projects are master-planned residential communities and are located at Army Installations nationwide.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Advise DOD clients on all aspects of large-scale housing privatization projects, including real estate finance, property management, construction oversight, and legal document review
  • Monitor compliance with legal requirements, conduct site visits to assess property management operations, and follow up on deficiencies
  • Review and create pro forma financials for large-scale residential projects in MS Excel, including short and long-term cash flow projections
  • Gather, evaluate, and analyze economic, demographic, and real estate market data to support project decisions
  • Review legal documents, financial reports, and operating plans as part of due diligence, negotiations, and restructuring processes
  • Provide project management support by collaborating with multiple stakeholders on issue identification, resolution, and performance monitoring
  • Develop briefing materials and present project updates to senior Army leaders without financial or technical backgrounds
  • Manage client relationships through effective communication, meeting coordination, training, and facilitation of strategic vision development
  • Maintain financial databases, document management systems, produce quarterly reports, and document best practices while managing significant workloads through effective prioritization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, public policy or related field preferred
  • 2 - 5 years of work experience
  • US Citizenship; Ability to complete a government background investigation
  • Strong financial/analytical, strategic thinking, organization, time management, client relationship and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally in written communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines, demonstrate flexibility and work in fast-paced team environment
  • Willingness to travel (annual or as needed)
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or MBA with concentration in Finance or Real Estate
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate financial analysis or related investment advisory roles
  • Experience with database management and advanced analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Power BI

Location: On-site in Washington DC

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

86,000.00 - 95,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
