CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, and program management and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally. CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients.

A Brief Overview
The Director of Environmental Health and Safety has primary responsibility for providing leadership, direction and guidance to the Safety Manager and the Fleet Manager, and other assigned program employees to ensure company-wide understanding and compliance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental and safety laws, regulations, and rules. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations.

What you will do



  • Acts as the chief advisor to the Safety Manager, Fleet Manager and other assigned program employees in all matters pertaining to portfolio environmental, health and safety compliance and compiles, analyzes and presents metrics and data. Adheres to standard work and ensures direct report adherence.
  • Evaluates environmental, health and safety programs for effectiveness and advise the Vice President of Operations.
  • Monitors all accidents, injuries and near misses. Creates quarterly reports that show trends, tracks days lost and financial losses. Works with the Hunt Risk Department to provide a safe and healthy work place environment.
  • Monitors all environmental incidents portfolio-wide and performs trend analysis. Creates quarterly reports to identify volume, type, and identified training needs or other mitigation strategies. Provides updates to senior leadership.
  • Works directly with the Directors of Operations and Vice Presidents of Operations to schedule and completes any site specific training or audits.
  • Ensures required safety and environmental training for all site employees are completed.
  • Develops Job Hazard Analyses for non-routine tasks completed by maintenance personnel.
  • Performs accident investigations as needed and attends OSHA/EPA meetings/inquiries as required.
  • Performs site level inspections to identify environmental hazards, operational competence with their disturbance and remediation, as well as evaluation of their management plans.
  • Maintains awareness of new OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and prepared recommendations for compliance.
  • Reviews and tracks all requests for confined space work.
  • Assists with the development of environmental scopes and work plans.
  • Annually audits all environmental plans for compliance and provides revision recommendations to the Senior Director of Maintenance & Facilities.
  • Provides guidance and Quality Control/Quality Assurance oversight of environmental work or projects.
  • Assists with the selection of environmental vendors and maintains required certifications.
  • Assures that storage and disposal of hazardous materials are in compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Develops and presents standardized training materials.
  • Oversees required radon testing and identifies locations of active Radon systems and tracks annual Preventive Maintenance inspections.
  • Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner and are in compliant with any local or federal laws.
  • Learns and ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
  • Ensures that all environmental or safety requirements are met per project legal documents.
  • Upholds all company policies, goals, and values.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner at all times-on and off the property.
  • Provides professional representation to command, housing, and other external parties.
  • Escalates property issues or any crises to appropriate parties.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Environmental Health and Safety Required or
  • equivalent work experience in the Environmental and Safety field. Required
  • three to five years' experience required in Property management Required and
  • 4-6 years experience in managing Environmental Health and Safety Compliance in Construction/Property Management environment. Required and
  • experience with leading and implementing behavior based safety programs. Required
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations as related to 29CFR 1910 or EPA laws and regulations.
  • Ability and knowledge to investigate industrial accidents and injuries, and determine the root cause and prevention measures.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and suggest the appropriate action when working with employees, management, or customers.
  • Ability to utilize with proficiency - Outlook email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations and return to duty programs.
  • Required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Certified Industrial Hygiene certification Preferred and
  • Certified Safety Professional or similar industry recognized certification. Preferred and
  • HAZWOPER, CPR, First Aid certifications Preferred and
  • Incident Command Training Certificate Preferred
