As the Sales Manager, Small Business Sales, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of Fidium's growth strategy for the small business segment. You will oversee all aspects of sales execution, go-to-market strategy, and growth planning. This role requires the drive, passion, and accountability for achieving and exceeding revenue and sales goals, while developing and building a strong, field-focused team selling Fidium Pro Internet and Digital Voice services. Responsibilities
Responsibilities Strategy, Planning & Reporting
- Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to meet overall Company objectives and generate revenue growth.
- Conduct analysis and provide metrics reports and daily sales and marketing status updates to the management team.
- Achieve or exceed assigned installation budget.
- Work with Sales Leadership to identify opportunities to improve processes, policies and sales performance.
- Stays abreast of technology and market trends, providing product and market feedback to internal teams to stay ahead of customer challenges and needs in order to drive revenue growth.
Lead, Coach & Manage Sales Performance
- Lead, Coach & Manage Sales Performance of the Small Business Account Executive team.
- Directly mentor Account Executives (AEs) with a strong emphasis on in-the-field, side-by-side selling to coach effective door-to-door sales techniques, cold calling, and canvassing strategies.
- Conduct regular One-on-One and team meetings, focusing on coaching, motivation, strategy, and sales performance accountability.
- Manage and report forecast, pipeline health, and monitor sales activity, including the documentation of sales activities and maintenance of quality sales records. Diagnose and take action to remediate performance gaps.
- Ensure the team submits clean, accurate orders and strictly adheres to all company sales and operational policies.
- Ensure the team follows the sales process and maintains high standards for professionalism and preparation for all prospect engagements.
- Attend customer meetings related to Fidium business sales needs, participating in pre-meeting planning and post-meeting debriefs.
- Provide coaching and feedback to the sales team on product knowledge and consultative selling.
- Maintain thorough understanding of company service offerings.
- Ensure the team is managing assigned accounts and achieving/exceeding defined sales and install quotas.
Recruit, Develop & Retain Sales Talent
- Routinely network with potential candidates to generate interest and build a talent recruitment funnel.
- Identify and diagnose development/training opportunities, especially for consultive, in-person sales pitches to small business owners. Build development plans designed to maintain a high-performance sales culture.
- Motivate employees through shared goals, recognition, and clear expectations.
Customer & Market Relationships
- Prioritize and establish Account Executive cadence with top customers and prospects.
- Build strong relationships with local small business owners and designated telecommunications decision makers.
- Direct the team to build and maintain referral partnerships, cultivating top referrers to become Fidium "Ambassadors."
- Attend and support local marketing and community events with the Account Executive team to drive local business engagement.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure the AE team is effective at territory management, including the development of local business and related organizational affiliations.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Technical training or knowledge: Proficient understanding of fiber internet and digital voice solutions for small businesses. Must be highly computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams), and comfortable using internal platforms for order entry, reporting, data management, and operational processes. Previous experience with Salesforce is helpful.
- Professional training or knowledge: Excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to learn, understand and effectively explain the Company's rates, services, features, benefits and regulations. Must possess strong project/time management skills.
- Work experience: Minimum of five (5) years of Small Business (SMB) Sales Management experience is required. Minimum of ten (10) years of previous sales experience preferred, ideally in telecommunications and field-based sales environments.
- Travel Requirement: Must have the ability and willingness to travel frequently across multiple states to spend time side-by-side selling and coaching with Account Executives.
- License required: Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
Education and Experience
- General education or equivalent: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
