POSITION SPECIFICS The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for a Housing Services Coordinator for the Housing Assignment Office. The Housing Assignment Office manages on-campus housing at University Park for over 15,500 residents. The Housing Services Coordinator provides customer service to current and prospective students and their families. This position will perform complex tasks with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * Answer telephone calls; greet and refer visitors * Setup and maintenance of Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contracts in eLiving * Maintain activity schedule in eLiving * Evaluate student preferences and process room assignments for student groups * Coordinate special housing needs, such as Resident Assistants, athletes, etc. * Generate and process daily reports through various University systems, such as LionPATH, eLiving, iTwo, etc. * Create and maintain files, databases, and reports * Process payments through Point-of-Sale system * Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit/University policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts and ensure adherence to FERPA guidelines * Contact different University departments and units to help assist student inquiries * Represent Housing at Admissions or Housing events * May assist in the supervision and training of students and assigned support staff * Support the planning and coordination of moderately complex projects * Serve on various committees; prepare agendas, take and compose minutes * Serve as a resource to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, and information processing procedures It is essential that the candidate have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to use good judgment when dealing with sensitive and confidential information, be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and thrives in collaborative settings, building strong connections across various roles and backgrounds. The successful candidate must have excellent skills utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Normal work hours are on-site, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with additional evening and weekend work required as necessary for Housing and Admission events. There is an opportunity for a limited flexible work arrangement with this position. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
