Diagnostic Radiologic Tech - Intern

Job Description By Specialty:

Diagnostic Radiology

Under supervision of a Registered Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, the Intern produces images for interpretation by a physician.

* Effectively operates and maintains required equipment necessary to produce radiographic images.
* Follows established imaging protocols and ensures image quality standards are met.
* Follows established Safety Standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
* Establishes ownership of clinical area by taking pride in appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment and supplies.
* In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Diagnostic Radiology
Education: High School graduate/GED; Enrolled in an accredited Radiograph Program
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required within 3 months of graduation from an accredited JCR program in Radiography. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
