We invite applicants who are passionate about teacher preparation to apply for a newly created full-time Special Education Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position within the Department of Educational Leadership & Advanced Studies.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching online and on-campus undergraduate and graduate special education courses, supervising field experiences, collaborating with colleagues in field-based programs, and advising graduate students. This position is a nine-month appointment, with possible summer employment. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
* Master's degree + 18 Semester hours in special education with related experience.
* At least three years of K-12 classroom teaching experience
* Broad-based experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities, and students with extensive support needs.
* Experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs, inclusive environments, and adapting for access to the general education curriculum.
* Commitment to NKU's core values and strategic framework, especially in how they may contribute to student success and belonging
Preferred Qualifications
*Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field ( ABD considered)
* Experience integrating innovative online teaching practices
* Experience with Special Education assessment
