What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an experiencedStructural Engineeringexpert to join ourInfrastructure Design Engineering team. This person will have a thorough understandingofall things related toStructuraldesign and construction,with extensive experience withArchitectural,and MEP design.They will be a technical advisor providing guidance and review of conceptual through detailed designs to produce buildings and construction that are fully integrated withmanufacturing processes.The ideal candidate will have experience working with large, complex projects, provide innovative solutions that are super-efficient and robust, and be able to multi-task and communicate risks to multiplestakeholders.

What You'll Do
  • High-level reviewofStructuraldesign work to ensure every designmaintainsthe highest level of qualityandservesasEngineer of Record (EOR)forthe most complex projects
  • Continually develop and improve upon project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent
  • Provide oversight of geotechnical investigations
  • Provide technicalexpertiseto the CSA design engineering team and other groups withinorganization, includingotherEngineer of Record (EOR) and Architect of Record (AOR)
  • Lead strategic decisions about technologies, materials, and processes, to build reliable buildings and construction that are very cost effective
  • Ensure design satisfies the construction requirements and is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations that are relevant to the project
  • Support construction activities by providing field construction review and design guidance
  • Provide peer review and mentorshipof junior engineers
  • Ability to guide others and take leadership on projects of varying complexity

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Civil, Structural, orArchitecturalEngineeringor equivalent experience

  • Atleast 12years of experiencewith increasing responsibility

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)required

  • Hands-on experience includingdesign,andconstruction

  • Ability to adapt, multi-task, and prioritize work inafast-pacedenvironmentwith evolvingchangesin design requirements

  • Work well under pressure and can work with multiple large teams at same time

  • Ability tointerfaceand collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines

  • ProficientwithMS Word, Excel,Outlook, andBluebeam

    Expected Compensation
    $148,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
