Reports To: Logistics Manager

Position Summary

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient movement of goods, timely customer pickups, and a clean, safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence. This position is also responsible for executing activities necessary for the efficient operations of other outbound, inbound, and internal warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities-Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards while performing job duties, ensuring full compliance with plant safety policies.
  • Track on-time deliveries and Perfect Order Measure (POM) for Policy Deployment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Responsible for meeting customer delivery expectations and reducing service failures.
  • Responsible for trailers and adjusting axle settings prior to shipment to ensure compliance with weight distribution requirements.
  • Verify that all trailers have complete and accurate shipping documentation before dispatch.
  • Transport trailers to the designated drop lot with proper paperwork for carrier pick-up.
  • Manage trailer movements in and out of the facility.
  • Plan, schedule and cross-dock all outside customer orders.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all trailers to ensure safety and operational readiness.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and refuel the toter as required.
  • Ensure empty trailers are available at the Armstrong site for operations.
  • Assist in scheduling specific trailers for Armstrong operations based on order requirements.
  • Coordinate with the finishing line to specify which materials should be loaded onto designated trailers.
  • Adhere to Supply Chain Transportation Security (CTPAT) procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in physical counts.
  • Ensure bale integrity within the warehouse

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • 5+ years of coordination and scheduling experience in a busy, fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment
  • 2+ years of Armstrong Plant experience

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use systems like SAP.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision and have an excellent balance between people and the tasks at hand and ability to work and be attentive to a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Prior experience with SAP.

Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to dusty materials
  • Use of personal protective equipment when entering manufacturing areas
  • Occasional outdoor work for trailer movements
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, and snow removal in warehouse areas
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
