As our Social Media Strategist & Content Creator, you'll be the hands-on architect of Mimecast's social media presence. You are a content creator first and foremost-a storyteller, video producer, community builder, and data-driven strategist who can personally script, shoot, edit, and produce engaging content while developing the strategic framework that amplifies our voice. You'll transform complex cybersecurity concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with security professionals and the broader tech community, driving meaningful conversations that matter. What You'll Do: Build and Execute Social Media Strategy
- Develop and implement data-driven social media strategies that drive brand awareness and engagement across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram
- Create quarterly and annual social media roadmaps that align with business objectives and product launches
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify opportunities and keep Mimecast ahead of the curve
- Track and analyze performance metrics-engagement rates, follower growth, website traffic, and lead generation-to continuously optimize campaigns and prove ROI
Create Compelling Content That Cuts Through the Noise
- Personally plan, script, record, and edit educational and promotional video content-you are the primary content creator bringing our stories to life
- Produce authentic, on-brand content including posts, infographics, short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Stories), and long-form thought leadership
- Transform complex cybersecurity topics, threat intelligence, and technical concepts into accessible content that resonates with diverse audiences
- Develop original content that showcases Mimecast's expertise: cybersecurity tips, threat trends, news commentary, and customer success stories
- Create content that establishes genuine connections with technical audiences and positions Mimecast as a trusted voice in the cybersecurity community
Engage and Build Community
- Actively engage with the cybersecurity community: respond to comments, join industry discussions, and build relationships with influencers and thought leaders
- Monitor and participate in real-time conversations around breaking threats, cybersecurity events, and industry developments
- Handle crisis communications and sensitive topics with the right tone and messaging
- Foster meaningful dialogue that positions Mimecast as a trusted partner in the fight against cyber threats
Manage Content Operations & Workflows
- Maintain a comprehensive content calendar coordinating posts, campaigns, and key launches across multiple platforms
- Organize and prioritize incoming requests from stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and efficient workflows
- Schedule and publish content using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later) for consistency and optimal reach
- Balance tactical day-to-day execution with strategic long-term planning
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with designers and the creative team to produce high-quality assets for larger campaigns and initiatives
- Coordinate brainstorming sessions and feedback cycles to ensure all creative work is on-brand and delivered on time
- Work cross-functionally with customer marketing, partner marketing, growth marketing, and product marketing to ensure content accuracy and business alignment
- Provide social coverage for events, conferences, webinars, and product launches
Measure, Analyze, and Optimize
- Monitor social media performance using platform analytics (LinkedIn Insights, X Analytics, YouTube Analytics) and management tools
- Deliver detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports with actionable insights and clear recommendations
- Conduct A/B testing on content formats, posting times, and messaging to continuously improve results
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategy and inform creative decisions
What You'll Bring:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in social media management and content creation, preferably in B2B SaaS, technology, or cybersecurity
- A strong portfolio showcasing original social media content you personally created-with emphasis on video content
- Hands-on video production skills: proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar editing tools
- Experience with social media management platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, or equivalent)
- Deep expertise in LinkedIn strategy and B2B social media best practices
- Analytical mindset with proven ability to translate data into actionable strategies
- Excellent writing and editing skills across different formats and platforms
- Strong understanding of technical and B2B audiences-ability to create content that resonates with cybersecurity professionals and IT decision-makers
- Creative thinker with strong visual storytelling abilities and an eye for design
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and manages multiple priorities with ease
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
What Will Set You Apart:
- Familiarity with current cybersecurity threats, tools, and industry landscape
- Experience running paid social advertising campaigns (LinkedIn, Meta, etc.)
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Figma)
- Experience with AI-assisted content creation tools
- Background or coursework in cybersecurity or information security
- Experience amplifying customer stories, case studies, and thought leadership
- Understanding of SEO principles and how social media supports organic search
- Crisis communication and brand reputation management experience in technical industries
The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$156,000 plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
